Frequently asked questions

About the project · updated 5 October 2026

A very short guide to a rather long way of telling a joke.

What is this project?

It is an independent three-site satire project built around .scot domains. Start at ai.scot, continue to si.scot, and reach the punchline at joke.scot.

Is this an artificial-intelligence product?

No. The websites are a joke about AI terminology, not an AI model, chatbot, commercial AI service or scientific claim.

What inspired it?

The project riffs on a 29 September 2026 remark about renaming AI to “SI”, or “Super Intelligence”. You can read the reported remarks or the published US executive order. On 4 October, Trump then announced a federal task force called the “Super Intelligence Force”, giving the original joke an unexpected sequel.

What changed on 4–5 October 2026?

Trump announced a new federal AI task force called the “Super Intelligence Force”, led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton. The BBC reported the announcement on 5 October, and Reuters reported that the task force has 120 days to produce a report. The homepage now treats that as the sequel to the original AI → SI joke.

Is this an official website or affiliated with anyone named in the joke?

No. It is independent satire and is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by AI Scotland, the Scottish Government, Donald Trump, the US Government or any AI company.

Do I need to create an account or pay?

No. You can follow the whole joke without registration, payment or submitting personal details.

Does the site use cookies or track me?

We don't include advertising or analytics cookies. Opening the optional contact form creates an essential security session cookie. Hosting or proxy systems may set further cookies; see the cookie policy and privacy notice.

Can I share the joke?

Absolutely. The most satisfying route for newcomers starts at ai.scot. Please don't impersonate an official organisation when sharing it.

Who runs it and how can I get in touch?

You can use the contact form on joke.scot. Privacy and data-handling information is set out in the privacy notice.

Why are there Glasgow charities on joke.scot?

The creator wants to direct attention from the joke towards independent Glasgow-based charities. One of the charities in joke.scot's current charities.json directory is selected at random on each uncached page load, with the others shown below. Listing a charity does not mean it endorses the joke or has agreed to a partnership.

How do donations work?

Click a charity's donation link to visit its official website and give directly to it. This project does not process donations or receive donors' payment details, and it cannot guarantee any fundraising amount. You may contact the project to suggest another Glasgow-based charity.
